Russian and Indian Armies will begin joint anti-terrorism military Exercise INDRA-2012 in the Siberian republic of Buryatia on Sunday, said a spokesman for Russia’s Eastern Military District. To be held at the Burduny training range until August 16, the Russian and Indian troops will arrive at the training range and begin preparing for an active phase of the exercises, which will begin on August 13, said the spokesman.
India and Russia will deploy 250 army men from each side and will use Russian-made combat vehicles. From 2003 to 2010, India and Russia conducted five INDRA-series joint ground and naval exercises. In 2011, Russia cancelled both the army and naval exercises. |
