The Chief of the Army Staff visited Headquarters Western Command located at Chandimandir on 08 August 2012. The Chief reviewed the operational preparedness of the Western Army and interacted with senior formation commanders. He addressed the officers of Western Command at Chandimandir Military Station where he enjoined them to be true leaders, through professionals and to do the organisation and nation proud. The Chief also complimented the Western Command on the high levels of operational preparedness, focus on long term all round capability and capacity building endeavours.


Later he also called on His Excellency Shri Shivraj V Patil, Governor of Punjab and Administrator UT Chandigarh at Raj Bhawan. The Chief interacted with veterans at a function in the evening. He assured the veterans of concerted efforts with renewed vigour to address their concerns during the Year of Veterans – 2012.


Mrs Bubbles Singh, President, Central Family Welfare Organisation interacted with the families in the station at a function organised in her honour.
