Catastrophic means an event or a combination of events that makesit impossible for aircraft to continue safe landing and flight. Death and /or aircraft loss will result.

Critical means event or combination of events which will reduce the capability of aircraft to continue safe flight and landing. It could lead to Catastrophic effects on the aircraft or personnel safety.
