Indonesian Defence ministery spokesman has announced purchase of Maverick air-to-ground missiles after U.S. Department of Defense (DOD) authorised its sales. The sale of 18 Raytheon AGM-65K2 Maverick air-to-ground missiles to the government of Indonesia for an estimated $25 million.

On 24th August, Indonesia's Defence Ministry confirmed that it will buy 100 Leopard II tanks from Germany. he tanks are made by Krauss-Maffei Wegmann GmbH & Co KG.

Indonesian government allocated a defence budget of 156 trillion rupiah (16.4 billion dollars) for the 2011-2014 period, allowing it buy hardware such as modern fighter aircraft and submarines.
