Turkey has decided to create Engines with 100% domestic design for land vehicles in the beginning, and later on naval and aviation versions will be manufactured. Meant for military needs, the engines will find civil applications too.

Currently, all engines used in automotive and defense industries in Turkey are either imported goods or produced under license.

An indigenous 1,800hp (1,300kW) engine is currently under development in Turkey and is set to test a UAV engine developed by TEI.

It recently okayed a turbojet engine for its cruise missile project to end French imports.
