Makhachkala gunboat, Project 21630 Buyan has been put on trials in Baltics Sea.

MAC "Makhachkala" designed FSUE "Zelenodolsk Design Bureau" (RT). A series of ships built of "Shipbuilding Company" Almaz ". This is the third ship of the project "Desperado." First - MAC "Astrakhan" inducted to the Russian service in 2006, the second - MAC "Volgodonsk," joined the Russian Navy in late 2011 and is currently preparing to move on inland waterways in the CFL.

Ships Project "Buyan" are equipped with unique propulsion units consisting of two water cannons, they provide a small ship draft on the go. Because of the low draft and high maneuverability of the ship is able to solve a wide range of problems in shallow water in the coastal zone of the Caspian Sea, on the river and estuary, as well as other "narrow" waters.


The ship is equipped with a powerful artillery weapons and is able to deliver effective fire strikes on enemy ships and coastal fortifications to clear a springboard for amphibious landings. Architectural appearance of the vessel meets the requirements to reduce the radar cross section, through the use of "stealth technology."
