Dear prof N_M, Thank you for your elaborate reply. ![]() I used to be very fond of sweets long back. Now I don't use either sugar or any of its substitutes. I eat lot of vegetables and less of rice (only in the form of idli / dosa) I am ready to change over to whole wheat products if it will help me. I do yoga and non weight bearing exercises for one hour the first thing in the morning. I will learn the self management of diabetes as suggested by you. Thank you very much for sparing so much of of your precious time to answer my queries. My guess was that I may get a reply in 3 days' time. You visit the threads only twice a week!!! Right??? ![]() |

Most doctors are so busy minting money that they have hardly any time for keeping themselves abreast with the latest developments in the medical field.
![]() Absolutely true for 99% of the time. However, this forum is one of the best and reliable for crowd-sourcing for the right kind of information on most things that matter to people. |

Dear Renu,
Thanks for the concern. I have resumed my yoga and will restart strolling once I become more free. I am completing my blogs and will maintain a very low profile in the Forum so that I will have more time for my other hobbies and for caring for my health. ![]() Dear VR ji, |

Dear Mr. Raghy, When did you see my wife to say she is petite? She gained 6 Kgs in weight and constantly blaming me for that. I am sure you are sensible in your diet. Bitter gourd is very good. I was told it actually helps the pancreas to repair itself when it is in that repairable condition. Your note about beer reminded me of this...... ( off topic)... not working.jpg Cheers! |

If it happens, I should thank Renu for this! I am laughing reading this. My mum has very bad osteoarthritis of her knee joints. She also never used to go for walks etc always saying she has no time etc. Before her joints became bad I even bought for her a low impact exercise bike but she never even touched it.My mum can be very very stubborn. One fine day (I don't know if you believe me)..Sathya Sai Baba came in my dream and told me to make sure my mother does her exercises or she won't be able to even walk in the future. Then after saying this Baba looked at me and kept silent for a moment and said this "But your mother won't listen to anyone even if God comes and tells her she will not listen!" Believe me RR ji..my mum never listened to me at all to do exercise and Baba was right about her being stubborn. |

Proves that you are an excellent cook!! It only proves I am in trouble. I bought some hot mixture, well a large pocket of 1 kg. This DIL of ours made Bangalore style mixture with onion etc ( I only ate very little of that). It became popular and these girls ate them and put on weight. As usual, blame me for that. I am given 91 days for her to loose weight! 10 days are already gone! You are welcome to visit anytime. Alternatively, when I come to Velacheri next time, may drop in! Cheers! |

Good one Dear Mr. Raghy!
![]() It is customary to leave notes on the fridge so that people won't miss the notes. obviously their relationship was not working and the girl friend went back to her mom! I won't blame her for leaving this budhdhu who can't even figure out what she is talking about! Sowbagyavathy VR, Greetings. |

I agree with what Shri N_M mentioned in his post 8. It is a pity that some family doctors are not accepting that he has not updated his knowledge. Some times they diagnose a simple fever with the dengue or malaria (if it prevails in that area). One thing I do not understand is that we observe fasting to satisfy the god or to satisfy our mind. Is any god compel us to observe fasting? In mumbai I have observed that people who say they do fasting are consuming puva (aval) upma or javvarisi upma during lunch time and they say it is exempted. Whether taking juice is prhibited during fasting? I do agree that observing fasting is good for health.
