Default Recent Trip To Tirupati
Dear All,

During the week end I visited Tirupati - with a Rs. 50 ticket booked through internet which asked me to report at Vaikundam complex at 7.00 AM and entry time as 8.00 AM. Promptly I was in the queue at 7 AM and they allowed entry at about 7.30 AM. All the people were asked to sit in couple of halls with good light / fan / internal TV facilities and also for every hall a separte toilet was (not so clean as we have at home) available.

Promptly at 9 AM the gate was opended and we proceeded for Darshan. There are some changes in the procedures as compared to my earlier visits but we were allowed to go directly for Darshan. Push Masters were present - but the degree of push was at medium level. Within 20 minutes we could complete the Darshan. Really a wonderful change in the way in which TTD has organized everything.

As compared to this, in the queue of Rs. 300 there was terrific rush and it would have taken certainly more than 6 to 8 hours for Darshan. So, plan your trip well in advance and you will certainly have good Darshan . We stayed at SVGuest House with a daily rent of Rs. 30 (Donor pass). A clean place with good white wash and brighter lights and with India / Western style toilets.

A hearty appreciation to TTD Authorities for their good work. Once again I will be visiting Tirupathi after 2 weeks.

I assume you are a 'donor', since you mentioned that you stayed at SVGuest House with a daily rent of Rs. 30 (Donor Pass). Would a non-donor be able to accomplish the same results with a Rs. 50 ticket, and if yes, why would anyone buy a Rs.300 ticket? Kindly provide the missing clue.

I am not a donor but I had a donor pass which made me eligible to get a room at Rs. 30. However, this had nothing to do with Darshan. For Darhsan I have booked a ticket of Rs. 50 in advance (through online) which specifically mentioned time of entry. Persons who are inRs. 300 were those who could not book the ticket in advance.

Only with the help of friends. For example, Somani Trust is one such donor in Mumbai. There is a big procedure to be followed - after we get the donor passes, we should take a copy of the same and forward it to CRO - TTD atleast one month in advance. If available, CRO will arrange for the booking. We have to handover the original donon pass at the counter to get the room. Alternately, we can book rooms online 60 days in advance - but only thing we will not be sure where we will get the accommodation. A/C rooms are also available on online for an amount ranging from 750 onwards.
