Its indeed distressing to a great degree that I am not impressed with any of YSR or Thaman songs even Imman who had 3 good songs last year in Myna.

Now that, we have ranked that song, lets move on to the songs most enjoyed this year.

For me, it is Chennaiyila Mazhaikkalam... my most fav songs of the year:

1. naan sonnadhum mazhai vandhuchaa - Naresh Iyer, Saindhavi - GV Prakash

2. mazhai varum arikkuri - Suzanne D'Mello - Joshua Sridhar

3. ippadi mazhai adiththal - Kartik, Saindhavi - Vijay Anthony

GV Prakash continued with his good work in:

Mayakkam Enna - naan sonnadhum, pirai thEdum, Oda Oda,
Deiva Thirumagal - vizhigalil, vennilavE, aariraaro, kathai solla pOren
Muppozhudhum Un Karpanaigal
Aadukkalam - yaathe yaathe, ayayo, otha sollaala

Yuvan scored in:

Vaanam - all peppy songs - cable raja was ok
Avan Ivan - rasathi pola, oru malaiyoram
Mankatha - again all peppy songs

Harris did not impress me at all.

M Ghibran gave some lovely songs in Vagai Sooda Vaa

1. senga sOla kaaraa - Anitha
2. sara sara kaathu - Chinmayi
3. pOraane pOraane - Ranjith & Neha Bhasin

Another new MD C.Sathya had some lovely songs in EngEyum Eppodhum

1. gOvinda chennaiyila pudhu ponnu - Vijay Prakash, Ranina Reddy, Boni
2. maasamaa Engi thavichen - Sathya
3. un pErE theriyaadhu - Madhusree

Yet another new MD (to thamizh) Sharreth impressed us in 180

1. rules kedaiyaathu - Tippu
2. AJ - Vidhu Prathap, Ramya S. Kapadia

3. sandhikkaadha kangalil - K. S. Chitra, S. Sowmya, Unni Menon
4. nee kOrinaal - Karthik, Shweta Mohan

2. Kanchana Mala - Karthik, Priya Himesh

Besides naan sonnadhu, there was an interesting song in Vedi

1. enna aachu - Vijay Yesudas, Janaki Iyer

Yet another newbiew Sajjan Madhav was introduced in Muran
