Another version was by PS - singing as a ghost
Usha Sankar.
Dear Ushaji,

You are right. Another variety from SMS

I think the best of the 3 from that song was by TMS in high pitch ??

Am I right ? As he typically would have sung for Jai shankar in his own style

One more good compossing for V.Kumar is "Raja Naagam" (remake of a Kannada movie 'naagara haavu').

Shrikanth played a very different role with the pair of manjula and Suba. (I mean the old Shrikanth)

Valee wrote all lyrics and V.Kumar compossed music. Some of the songs are:

"Maanavan ninaithaal... nadathi kaattuvaan".... (TMS) for Shrikanth

"Samudhaaya veedhiyile naan sivappu vilakku" ...(PS) for Manjula

"Dhevan vedhamum kannan geethaiyum
oru paadhaiyil ingu sangamam"... (SPB & PS) for Shrikanth & Suba.

Dear Balaji...

Neenga solrathu ungalukke niyaayamaa irukkaa..?

You mentioned: 'please give some chance for engalai pondra appaavi'

But the record says that. you have posted 677 postings within a short period of 33 days (that means more than 20 per day) and somebody mentioned it is a new record in TFM. All postings are valuable is another speciality.

Hats off...
keep it up....

Sarooo....

Hello Saradha,

Kaviyathalavi was composed by MSV and not VKumar.
There is a melodius song ( typical MSV song ), Kayyodu kai serkkum kaalangalay ( by Susheela )

By the way, Poova thalayaa was composed by MSV only

Dear Usha...

The song "Naan unnai vaazhthi parugiren"...(by PS) is from Nootrukku Nooru, I already mentioned in the first page of the thread.

Another hit song from same movie: "Niththam niththam oru puththam puthiya sugam naan thedinen" by TMS, it was also mentioned by Balaji there.

Default Music Director V.Kumar's classics
V.Kumar was one of the leading music directors in the late 60s and early 70 and had composed some memorable hits for K.Balachander and a host of others. His hits include :

1. Bama Vijayam
2. Edhir neechal
3. Arangetram
4. Major Chandrakanth
5. Raja naagam
6. Velli vizha

Todays' generation might not have heard of him but its worth discussing about him as he had composed some lovely songs.

Any reaction to this please

Hello Balaji...

I also told 'Kaaviya Thalaivi' was compossed by MSV only.

I am giving the last para of my previous statement again:

""Even when V.Kumar was compossing music for KB, KB used "MSV" then and there, such as "Bama Vijayam', Anubavi Raja Anubavi, Punnagai, KaNNaa Nalamaa, Kaaviya thalaivi....etc."" (all these movies composed by MSV).

Hello Balaji...

"Unnidam mayangugiren" song from the movie 'ThEn sindhuthey vaanam' sung by KJY.

We should add one more super hit of V.Kumar "Nootrukku Nooru" by KB. (can anybody forget the song, P.Suseela's "naan unnai vaazhthi paadugiren...nee vara veNdum").

Dear Saradha,

Thanks for the inputs on Unnidam mayangugiren.

Thanks also for pointing out 100 / 100 song of Susheela.

There is another song by TMS - Nitham Nitham oru putham pudiya sugam - Beautiful song - TMS is his great variety, by singing like Jayshankar in a mild manner.

Thanks a lot.

Lets a put a rest on Aval oru thodar kathai - I am telling emphatically , its MSV only and V kumar. However , bamavijayam was by Vkumar

njv... you are obsolutely wrong...

"AvaL oru thodarkathai" by M.S.Viswanathan only. It is 200% sure.

(You watched the movie 100 times. But all the 100 times you were sleeping when title card was shown).

V.Kumar's last movie with KB was 'Arangetram' only.

From 'Aval oru thodar kathai' KB worked with MSV. It continued as
'Apoorva Raagangal',
'Manmadha Leelai',
'Moondru Mudichu',
'Avargal',
'Ninaithaaley Inikkum',
'Nizhal nijamaagirathu', '
'VaRumaiyin niRam sivappu'...and so on....

Even when V.Kumar was compossing music for KB, KB used MSV then and there, such as "Bama Vijayam', Anubavi Raja Anubavi, Punnagai, KaNNaa Nalamaa, Kaaviya thalaivi....etc.

Guys

Who is the MD for Adhe Kangal?

I thought the songs were very good in this movie - hero is Ravichandran.

I remember the Boom boom boom maatukaara velan vandhaandi...

I heard that this was an inspired song from an English album.
