Director Sridhar passed away after prolonged illness. There are no words to describe his contribution to TFM.

He was the first 'super star ' director and trend setter.
he had many firsts to his credit
including first social movie in Tamil -- Kathalika neramillai
first tamil film to be shot in Kashmir
first tamil film to be completed in asingle schedule - nenjil or aalayam
first movie to be shot extensively in foreign locations- sivanda mann
His repetoire covers from extreme pathos like kalyana parisu to the masterpiece of comedy 'Kathalika neramillai.
Only mythology was left untouched by the master.
His sense of music was wonderful which shone through the ages

Sridhar desrvedly became alegend in his own lifetime.

my most favourite director has always been Sridhar. He has passed away. rhomba kashtamaa iruku.

Kadhalikka neramillai, my most favourite movie was directed by him.

It seems he has one of the best ways to tell story and song situation to music directors to extract the very best. Almost aaaaallllll his movies had terrific songs. To name a few movies (I can not name the songs, there are plenty): Kalyana parisu, Thean nilavu (these two movies were composed by the singer AM Raja), Venniradai, Sivandha mann, urimaikural, ooty varai uravu, policekaran magal, nenjil oar aalayam, nenjirukkum varai, nenjam marappadhillai, sumaithaangi and again the all-time greatest classic Kadhalikka neramillai. Even with IR he had great hits like Ilamai oonjalaadudhu, oru odai nadhiyaagiradhu (Thalaiyai kuniyum thaamaraiye), ninaivellaam nithya!
the songs in these movies. 99% of the songs are maaaaagnum hits with extraordinary stuff from Kannadhasan and MSV-TKR.

Bhoori: You might want to check on Vaira Nenjam and Uttharavindri Ulle Vaa. I think these were directed by Sridhar.

rra, Yes Vaira Nenjam (Old name was Hero-72) was directed by Sridhar. Padmapriya's debut movie but released very late.

Uttharavindri Ulle Vaa was was produced under Chithralaya (Sridhar's production banner) but was directed by NC Chakravarthy (Sridhar's close associate).
