Default All About Kaviarasu Vairamuthu- The TAMIZH man
Guys.... we can discuss about this lyrics here... or his poems and all..

Vairamuthu, born in 1953 in Madurai district of Tamil Nadu is a noted Tamil poet and star lyricist. His poetry reflects his staunch commitment to the progressive ideas of the Dravidian movement on the one hand, and a playful romanticism on the other. While retaining the traditional elements of alliteration, rhythm, and a flavor of classical language with deep nostalgia for the Tamil past, Vairamuthu's poetry is quintessentially modern in its choice of themes and forms. His poems are full of beautiful imagery, both poignant and ecstatic. As a lyricist for films, he is regarded as the true inheritor of the great legacy of Kannadasan.

He has been awarded the National Film Award five times in the Best Lyrics category. He has participated in many literary meetings and poetry festivals in India and abroad. He is a recipient of Kalaimamani Award and Tamil Nadu State Government award thrice for his contribution to Tamil literature.

* Shared a good rapport with Illayaraja & A.R.Rahman.

Now Guys, ... earlier when i was doing my assignment in the hall, i happen to watch Mega Thangavettai and a Q about Vairamuthu, that he has 2 son - Kabilan & Karthi [i think]..... its this Kabilan the same who writes lyrics for the current Mds... ???

my respect for VM plummetted the day he wrote this lyrics for Periyar:

அணிலுக்கு ராமன் முதுகில தடவியாதால் 3 வரிகள் வந்ததாம். அப்புறம் ஏன் சீதைக்கு முதுகில் வரிகள் இல்லை. அப்படின்னா ராமன் சீதைய தொடவில்லையா?

such perverted thoughts!

This guy is a big pervert and a hypocrite. He used to be good for the first few years. Later when he started churning out his algorithmic numbers, he lost it.

I don't want to talk about the other man. case edhAnum pOttuduvAnga

You should read the Original Kamba Ramayanam or Valmiki Ramayanam Probably you would kill both Kambar and Valmiki, if possible, for the perverted writings found in their text

VairaMuthu He is one of my favorite lyricists. I like the way he narrates everything in an indirect way I still remember the lines from the Jeans song
"Anbae, Unathu MeLLidai paarthaEn Ada Ada Brahman Kanjanadi"
>
It took me days to decipher what was the real meaning behind the two lines at that time

Apart from that, I love his simple yet powerful lyrics. I love all the lines of "PoongaatriLae" song in UyiraE. That is Vairamuthu for you

Sometimes the lyrics also are written under compulsion - the story line, the screen play, the producer, the hero image and all.So you cant entirely blame him.He is definitely a great writer. see the lyrics of Poon Maalai Pozhudhu
Can you get better words to describe the change from evening to night -
Aayiram Nirangal Jaalamidum
Raathiri vasalil Koolamidum
Vaanam Nilavukku Paalamidum
Paadum Paravaigal Thalamidum

Or even Illaya Nila Pozhigirathu abt rain
Mugilinangal alaigirathey Mugavarigal tholainthanavo
Mugavarigal Thavariyadhal azhudidumo
Adhu Mazhayo
I will add hundreds of other lines in the coming days

Later when he started churning out his algorithmic numbers, he lost it.
The algorithmic period was early 90's. After that he wrote some very good lyrics.

I will add hundreds of other lines in the coming days way back somebody claimed that "pon maalai pozudhu"was his own lyrics and vairamuthu copied it .the farmer had a case filed against vairamuthu for this .is this incident true???

s some of his filmi songs really good.my best being "ra ra raamiya" but basically his own writings ,poems, speech r superb compared to his film songs. he writes insisting lot on self confidence inspiring students esp.
