There are a lot of one/few hit composers and singers in TFM who seemed to be forgotten over the years. Here are a couple of threads on composers and singers I picked from TFMpage. I though there are many more composers and singers who were probably missed out from the list. So thought I'd revive the discussion again .
Few I know little about: Sunandha - She sung in Mannava(Walter Vetrivel), Edhukku Pondatti(Kizhakku Cheemayile). She featured in Jaya TV's 'Hari Giri Assembly' in 2000/2001. I remember her telling that she and Chitra were classmates/batchmates in the same music college in Trivandrum. Binny Krishnakumar - Sung the Telugu 'Raa Raa' for Chandramukhi. I read that she is a classical singer/teacher. Arunmozhi - Heard played the flute in Ilayaraja troupe ?? Sandhya - who sang 'Poo Kodiyin Punnagai','Deepangal Pesum','Kummiyadi Penne'. heard she is P.Susila's niece/daughter-in-law?? Lots I dont know and would love to know about: Agosh: The trio who disappeared after 'Kodeeswaran' Shoba Shankar: one hit wonder 'Margazhi Poove' Radhika: another one hit wonder 'Ilampani Thuli Vizhum' Murari: one who composed for 'Solaikuyil' Manoj-Gyan: who composed for many Film Institute Student movies. I guess last was Inaindha Kaigal? Soorya: who did 'Neelakuyil', is he Ramesh Vinayagam? Vijayanand: who did 'Naan Adimai Alla' Iniyavan/Ilayavan(forgot the name): who composed for Gowri-Manohari. Had one of the rare SPB-Yesudas duo songs. Devendran: 'Vedham Pudhidhu','Mannukkul Vairam','Ganam Kortar Avargale'(Did this movie have any song at all?) |

Dinesh,
Forgot about 'Harichandra', even 'Mundhana Chelai' was pretty nice and beatish. ~~~~~~~~~~~~ didint 'Margali Poove' Shoba just released her album lately??or is that another shoba? Are you talking about Shuba? who did 'Yenna Paaru', there was a song called 'Vaalpaarai Vattaparai' in that too. ~~~~~~ Some more has been talked about this topic a while back. Check this thread. Philip-Jerry actually did a remix album called Dance-Natyam, sometime around Thottachinungi came (in around 1995/96). |

You forgot this new phenomenon.. it's called "REhitting".
Formula 4 REhittin (quite easy): 1) Get an old hit song - which is forgotten.. 2) Give the old song an new dress: a: Add new beat b: Change the songs chords from minor to major or vice versa! c: Add an new bassline d: Change the pitch one note scale higher.. e: Select new singers 3) Release it! Mr. Harris Jayaraj use this formula very often.. |
