Sanjeevi, don't take me wrong - lets leave YSR where he is today, I am sure he has the potential to be No. 1, But its too early to put this kind of load on him and expect him to perform according to it.
I would say he was better than all other MDs last year. So, I will be happiest if YSR continues it for the next few years atleast and then we can decide. All IMHO. NagaS |

I think YSR is a very good talent........he music is more of an American folkish type rather than english folk that was so well used by both IR and ARR.....bcos of this reason he sounds very different......but having said that he will end up as someone who was better than HJ,VS,Deva,Shankar-Ganesh but lesser to ARR,IR,MSV-TKR..........i'll tell u the reason y- he has given far too many loose/bad albums in a short career.....

YSR is known as the new Super Star of TFM by the following reasons
1) Continuous success of albums (7G Rainbow Colony, Manmadhan, RAAM) 2) The only MD who is not giviing tappanguthu, pop, dance type numbers. 3) Variety, Originality of Musics 4) Audio CD/Cassette sales 5) Youth attraction [/b] |

I used to be very irritated with fans or IR and ARR when they referred to the musicians as God. But after seeing Yuvan called a phenomenon, I wonder if they used it for lack of appropriate words
![]() There is nothing in YSR's music that would identify him as original. Granted he makes hummable music, mostly danceable, but certainly its far from being phenomenal. One Roja can beat all of YSR's albums put together. YSR uses a mix of already done world music beats. IR and ARR are phenomenal because their sound is unique to themselves. YSR is still very much among the average music directors like SAR,Vidyasagar etc, who give good music, at least the latter does, but certainly they all are limited. To end, at this stage, even ARR has become stale for me. So I am not talking from a fan's perspective. I just think that if this(RAM!) was phenomenal, I wonder what is called mediocre. |
