He was a communist but he declared himself openly as one.
He was NOT a hoodwinker then. He was the first to condemn on the Soviet Invasion of Czechoslovakia. He later destroyed villages and built flats for his people He used the land for farming. He did not respect dissent. He stamped hard on the people by use of the Securitate (Secret Police) He was in power for 25 years. He hated blacks and had to wash his hands with alcohol everytime he shook the hand of any African leader He even tried to groom his son, Nicu Ceaucescu to succeed him The Romanians had a revolution in 1989 He was overthrown, incarcerated and sentenced to death by firing squad. The charges against him were crimes against humanity through starvation and robbing the soul of the Nation. Till the end Ceaucescu and Elena pleaded for their life by addressing themselves as the Father and Mother, respectively. No one gave them an ear. His mighty Palace stands in Bucharest. He and Elena died a horrible death. |
