Default Jobs for Mature PMEs
NTUC is pushing for it after many years of doing nothing at all. The bomb will explode soon and reluctantly govt. thru NTUC is opening the can of worms.

What is the big deal? Firstly most PMEs have basic degree and higher ones plus solid experience incl mgmt knowledge. Paying them $2000 is a big joke when one consider that entry-level degree holder jobs pay almost $3000 without any experience! Why is mature PMEs worth so much less?

This $2000 joke clearly show how govt. view the worth of mature PMEs ..... like someone said Jumbo restaurant pays $1600 for dishwashing - so govt. is pegging mature PMEs' worth to dishwashing.

Now we know that it is really the govt. discriminating against PMEs .... also re-employment of mature workers after 62 years. PSD placed the bar much higher than private sectors and cut pay & benefits when private sector does not!

After serving the nation for so long and paying taxes faithfully govt. sees it fit to continue screwing them except LKY who is far beyong employable age.

What sort of cuntry is this?

NTUC is a discriminative labour union. A friend of mine in his 40s applied for jobs in NTUC CLUB, NTUC CAMPASs, NTUC and MOH still did not even get a reply from these institutions yet they kept advertising. I think my friend application gone to the trash liao.

The biggest joke today is the worth of a university degree. Even if a first class honours degree holder is not adaptable and resilient, he or she will be overlooked.

But how many has successful found jobs through NTUC? What we are reading are the unsuccessful ones. If there were 10 applicants and 7 won't successful, won't you consider the whole drive successful, notwithstanding we are reading the other 3's sad stories.

Or I can bet that over 80% of the successful applicants came from FTs?
Seeing such a long queues there, I wonder what's the ratio of sgreans and foreigners among the attendees.
I am not surprised it is 90% FTs vs 10% locals.

The crisis come when PMET reach the age of 45....

Forget about NTUC, they will not and cannot help this group at all. Any significant help will require a shit load of effort and a paradigm shift in how we value experience and knowledge.

If you still depend on your salary to feed your family at age 45, you are screwed! big time!

The PAP govt and the NTUC know next to nothing about how to resolve employment issues for PMETs. All they know is how to give their ex-Ministers, MOSes and PAP MPs secure places (to practically do fuck all) in GLCs overseen by Temasek Holdings.

It's a case of too little too late. NTUC couldnt even solve problems for blue collar workers in the face of massive displacement by cheap foreign trash. The result is that today, there is already a humongous swell of educated, disgruntled, cynical disenfranchised PMETs ready to hand the PAP another one to two GRC defeats at the next GE. As long as that bastard face of LSS represents NTUC, no one should pull any punches.
