I partly agree with you. The Govt and TH are partly at fault for choosing SPH and allowing her to do what she did. But SPH cant be absolve from fault. She was the CEO and she stteeredMRT. She might have the Govt, TH and SMRT Board's approval for what she did. But what shd did, eg maintenance neglect, was wrong. She cant escape the major responsibility of what happened at SMRT |

It's not the real fault of either the Govt, TH and SMRT Board. The real fault rests with only one person. TNeither LTA, TH or SMRT Board would dare disobey that person's instructions. She will gets what she wants, her way. Still don't know who I'm referring to? The one who made billions of losses at TH but did not even a tiny slap on the wrist. Nothing is permanent; eventually that power will transfer to people at the right time. |

We cant have a Board which just rubber stamps a decision. The Board must delibearte any proposal before approving it. And if HC can steamroll her way with her bad decision through the Board, isnt the Board also at fault? |

Actually one of the ways to manage is to have subordinates far from you in ability. That way, you always remain on top. But such a method of management is found mainly around the bottom, where you have a supervisor and the rest just following instructions. At the top, normally you need significant inputs from the rest of your team in order to have the best response to issues. To have this at the very top, it is very odd. Also most high calibre guys dont want to work for and report to a leader os substandard ability. Guess that's one reason why LHL cant attract good talent. How can a non-talent attract talent? |

Again I partly agree with you that HC is greatly at fault. But the govt is at fault in agreeing to put HC where she is. TH and SMRT Boards are also at fault for allowing HC to dominate and have her way. A Board has a duty to speak up against bad decisions. |

This is a clear case of collusion, corruption and nepotism but nobody in the board of LTA,TH or SMRT dare to speak up the truth for fear of losing his/her status and monetary rewards.U pay a heavy price for speaking the truth in Singapore ! |
