You are managing a service related company. You offer services to a variety of clientele. As the company grows you hire people who could think and take on responsibilities that would reduce the burden of your own work over loads. Are you entertaining anyone’s idea to do things better? Well if not you should always have better ideas than any one else and if you do not continue to read. A favorite project gets into serious trouble, due to rapidly changing technological and changing environment in the market place. One who builds a company from zero level up wards very rarely listens to anyone but himself shutting out the ideas of people who know the heartbeats of the market. Often and under difficult circumstances, the leaders themselves help institutionalize systems that affectively shut out any outside influence that can destabilize their status quo. As they climb the hierarchy amassing more and more power, they naturally feel the need to internalize systems based on their own perceptions and thinking patterns. Rules are made and those perceptions effectively shutting fresh ideas reaching the top. Specific rules and other deterrents make sure that non-conformists with new ideas that are in conflict with an established order are kept under strict control. There is no room allowed for views of others with the existence of a master strategist. The master strategist takes on the entire weight of thinking on behalf of an organization. There are leaders and others that follow. Leaders do the thinking and others follow the orders without any thinking. When people are taught to act without thinking they are uncreative partners of any organizational growth. While managers are always expected to make the right decisions, the pressure of this expectation can make their lives extremely difficult and unpleasant. A leadership with a strong sense of humor and ambassadorial qualities are vital to any successful growth. A dynamic capability to stabilize the company internally is a prime force to influence all the important decisions. Move in to bold new directions to deliver very good value to customers. The strongest growth opportunities should be centered on applying effective technologies to solve all customer problems. The energy level at the production floor can make a significant rise only with an involvement and dedication. The potential for good must far outweigh the bad at any time of any company’s history and their focus not be limited to conventional wisdom but an ability to play outside the rules to get the most desirable of results. Well! I hope reading this and understanding the underlying message improves your ability to steer clear of hurdles in any management undertaking specially meant for the younger generation of managers in the making. |

It is sad to note that you can never inspire people of Tamil Nadu with subjects of importance and a great way to turn into great people in becoming true professionals. We have had the greats like Ramanujan and many others of Tamil Nadu who managed to tell the world that there exists a place such as Tamil Nadu in the world Map.
However, Tamil Nadu at present is known for nothing that inspires the world but its past laurels. No one seems to be interested in letting it be known for better reasons. We are reaching fast an era of producers of no talents and stagnation or no one even interested in bringing out what may exist. |
