I joined the Chennai forums in June last year. I have written on a variety of subjects. At the beginning it was fun I had the support of many. But some of my subjects were serious it hurt some normally where it shouldn't. I thought I could bring some matters of serious nature up for discussion and expected the participation of many.
Now I have a feeling that I am in a similar situation like Roger Federer. I have To train myself so hard to stay on top. Add more grand slams. They came faster a year ago but looks like my age on this forum is telling on me. I only hope my fans would stay with me to give the encouragement I need so bad to get a few more slams. But it's funny that I am very popular on another Indian forum that I have to have good and valid arguments to counter the drop volleys that threaten me constantly but I make a rare unforced error. I need your support to keep my brain working. |

The other forum I spoke about consists of very smart people. They are not very lenient and don't give one hundredth of a millimeter on compromises and this sort of a challenge is what love I love to take on. It brings the best in me and to be very honest I had to give in to a more valid point a few times.
Being honest about setbacks gives you room to move on. That's what I call "Falling down is not Defeat but refusing to get up to fight on certainly is". |

I thought I could bring some matters of serious nature up for discussion and expected the participation of many. Sadly people read all the serious stuffs everywhere - tv, papers and online news channels. So they dont want to do the same here,thats why there is very little participation.
not to forget, in this day and age, the number of people who write original/quality stuff is less... Most of the information is shared from one place to another. |

So I will let you handle things as best as you can. I will ignore the stuff I am not interested in and pretend I don't see them. I will just play my part correctly and honestly. Is that ok with you? |

Dear Rajpriyaji
You do not have to feel so gloomy at the declining participation in forum. I am always one of your admirers and enjoy your very refreshing articles from time to time. Unlike many who lift material from the internet or books and paste the same in the forums yours is per se thought provoking and inspiring ones. I do not know why people cannot conceive and develop subjects of common interest. Notwithstanding support or acclaim or criticism I would like you to march ahead in full steam catering to people who are thirsty for knowledge like me. I would like to point out here that I see some members join the forums to use them as platforms for their commercial purposes; few others contribute same articles or views in other forums as well. I have pointed this out to one of the forum's moderator thru a personal mail but he would not mind. I had also been watching with a tinge of regret the wordy duel between members in some forums which was very well handled by the Administrator. I want you to keep contributing your valuable articles for the benefit of members. I wish you every success. RAMABADRAN |

@Ramabadran Sir,
Thank you very for your encouraging message. I only wish I had many more encouragement messages of this nature. You can see my postings give me the same feeling as flopping Tamil movies that don't meet their targets at the box office. I know that Chennai forums should be successful In functioning mainly as discussion platform for members to interact rather than being a boring news bulletin. I sit and write what I observe or the experience I have in my life that was not bed of roses. When I went abroad four and half decades ago I went with a little black bag as you may have already read about. I have washed cars in most London's second hand sales companies, worked as waiter in Wimpy restaurants in Leicester Square, cleaned carpets at Selfridges on London's Oxford Street, had worked in a Jewish restaurant cleaning huge pots and pans to finance my own education abroad. All because the socialist regime took over all our land under land reform laws. I had to temporarily go from riches to rags but I never felt I had hit the canvas. Today I have my own house our own advertising business and get a decent German pension and I could have had more but I was content to be frugal and happy to be down on earth. Since, I was born in Tamil Nadu I thought I would participate in sharing my life's experience with my countrymen so that they could know that “if there is a will there is a way” Often I am talking to myself in an empty hall and wonder why I don’t have an audience. I have lot more of my adventures. One of that was when I went to Southern France to be exact it was in Monaco and got stuck without money even for a cup of coffee. God always was following me and led me into the premises of an Italian circus “Moira Orfei” stationed in Monaco. I found a job there for 8 weeks that was left of my summer vacation from my college in London. Beggars can’t choosy but when you get paid to work I thought why not give it a go? I moved with them from one city to city to another every three days. At the end of eight weeks I had my pocket full of Italian Lira still worth a few hundred British pounds that was enough for two months board and lodging in London. That’s for now but I will come back even if it’s only just for you with more. Thank you once again Ramabadran Sir! |
