Are we in the Kali Yuga, Satya Yuga, Treta Yuga or the Dvapara Yuga? All I know is we are in the Digital Yuga. Starting with email then the mobilephone and everything digital that followed God knows what next is going to influence our lives.
The days are gone when we needed letter pads, envelopes and stamps to communicate. Even if one can’t afford to own a computer, it is easier to find an Internet cafe than finding a post office today. Setting up a Hotmail (email) address is faster than buying a Burgher at (Fast food) McDonalds. From the richest to the poorest you hardly see any one without a mobilephone these days. According to Hindu belief human civilisation is supposed to degenerate spiritually during the Kali Yuga that refers to a Dark Age where people are supposed to be far away as possible from God. Kali Yuga - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Yes! As a Hindu I believe we are now less nearer to God than our forefathers and our children and children’s children even further away. The Digital Yuga has changed our attitude towards God and regenerated our life into hectic digital paths. I am sure you may have come across someone’s mobilephone ringing when he or she was inside a temple performing a puja and promptly answered. The Age we are going through can not by any means described as a Dark Age. It seems to me it is an Age of Digital awareness the whole world has brightened up to making the world so small leaving little time for God. Oh! God forgive us. To err is Human. |
