It is a question that haunts me all the time. Am I honest? I just try hard to be and not to pretend to be honest but just be honest. I would do everything honestly and let others judge me. If I ever try to judge myself I may not to do justice to others with whom I interact. It is not that easy for any one to convince others of your honesty unless there is absolute necessity.
The good thing is that each day I don’t need to go around providing proof of my honesty to anyone except to my own conscience. Seldom does any one admit that they always do things to impress other people all the time. From the way we dress, the way we live, the way we talk and even places we go to eat are ways to cater to our own deep desire to impress others but rarely do we realize we do so. After all we are Human and the built in remote control steers our life from the day we are born. Often people brag about their intelligence. Are all intelligent people successful and happy in life? "The only thing that ever consoles man for the stupid things he does is the praise he always gives himself for doing them." -Oscar Wilde I don’t know if all the smart guys in this world are happy and successful. Some really intelligent guys who made lots of money are behind bars today because the law was smarter than their intelligence. So you can see intelligence alone does not make you smart or vice versa. There is one thing I know for sure about all smart people. They have to keep working hard to live up to their self-assumption all the time to prove they are intelligent and smart because they are egoistic and feel insecure otherwise. “To be conscious that you are ignorant is a great step to knowledge” Now who said this? Was it Benjamin Disraeili? Rajpriya |
