Hi Tywjohn, The funny thing is farangs are always praised by Thai people but not the girls. They never get looked at as a bad farang unless they are really bad and Thais know them. For example, when a farang is with a Thai girl, the girl will be looked down and made to feel ashamed . Even a pair of jeans...I found this is quite funny!!! A friend of mine said to me one day that why jeans look so good on farang men even on a old farang but the jeans never look good on Thai men -- I couldn't give him an answer!!! ![]() Peace, ~Lime~ |

OK, well, that lovely mixture of response pretty much answered my question. Thanks all. So Pattaya is a place with a wide range of stuff going on but there is a tendency in many circles to associate Pattaya only with the "pay to play" aspect and to see that in the worst possible light and in the narrowest context (As if farrang men are the only ones paying and playing.).
I'm not particularly interested in Pattaya, but I was interested in that tidbit of social background, just another piece in my jigsaw puzzle "understanding Thailand". ![]() Thanks all. Mikel. |
