Don't know if it still works this way-probably does not- but some Tuk Tuk drivers used to hire their vehicle on a daily basis from large companies.
Some of the drivers used to be from the north east, just working in Bangkok during the cool season when there was not much agricultural work at home. Often returning tourists/farang residents knew their way around Bangkok than they did!! |

Is there any reason why a foreigner can not buy a Tuk-Tuk vehicle with a couple of Thai nationals as a shared business venture and then share the driving between the Thai nationals and the foreigner. I understand Thai law allows partial foreign ownership of businesses, so long as the business is more than 50% Thai owned, so it can be run and operated with the help of a foreigner driver in this case, am I correct.
