Thanks a lot for the info. I've been reading a lot of reviews from this forum and others. I think the final conclusion is:
~Anytime is a great time to go to Thailand~ Even if it rains, it's not like it's going to be cold or we're not going to melt. I'm sure there are plenty of indoor activies or even outdoor rain activities we can do. (place suggestions here) If anything, even a rainy Thailand will be better than a cold Northern BC, Canada October. |

OCtober tends to be very rainy all over Thailand. it doesn't mean that it will rain all the time, usually there are heavy outbursts of rain early in the afternoon for an hour or two, then again before sunset, which may or may not go on for hours at night. last year, it was raining a solid 10 or 12 hours every night in Chiang Mai. mornings were usually fine. in 2006, the monsoon stopped early and there wasn't a drop of rain after the middle of September. usually it does go on well into October, especially in the south.
make sure you have a raincoat (umbrellas are no use) and some backup plans all the time. |
