If these criminals were court in a middle eastern country they would receive the penalty of stoning, this is exactly what they deserve. Other places are Sudan, Nigeria and Pakistan No, stoning is only used in cases of adultery and sometimes political crimes. [/quote] Surawut This is what they need. This VDO was good thanks, I just don't believe how a girl or a lady become a trouble maker like that, ""Maybe in China it is something else"" but I am not aware of their culture. Peace. |

I only remember today that about two years ago we were taking a night bus from Krabi to Bangkok. it was raining heavily and it was dark so I have no idea where we were, but there was a stone flying through the window and narrowly missing me. we went to a police station nearby but nothing happened for half an hour (I don't know if they were trying to contact an officer or what) so we went on.
I didn't remember this incident when Mel mentioned the problem in the chatroom. |

And eastern Turkey which I have seen myself on tv news when I was staying out there. I know people that get stoned here everyday Seriously though, last October I was driving between Surat Thani and Krabi at about 10:30pm. I stopped at a sub Police station somewhere around Phra Saeng to ask directions. The Policeman pointed me towards the road I needed to take and warned me to go slow and with extra care because there had been three reports of vehicles that had been struck on that stretch of road. |

Ayutthaya Province is the "hub" of these rock throwing activities. There have been deaths and other people have been severely injured. One truck driver lost an eye and HM the Queen assisted him with his medical expenses. The police had a minor success the other day when they caught two of the little s***s. They were paraded on TV wearing balaclavas. The usual reenactment was carried out.
This is what they need. [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5lUPDM6ljsE"]YouTube - Brat Camp - China[/ame] |

Police arrest 3 youths for stoning cars Writer: AMNART THONGDEE AND SUPAPONG CHAOLAN CHUMPHON : Police have arrested three teenage boys after they admitted to hurling rocks at speeding cars for fun at the end of their drinking sessions. Two of the boys, who allegedly threw rocks at moving vehicles on the night of Aug 5 in Tha Sae district, said they were imitating news reports of stone-throwing gangs on television, police said. News of such attacks has been widely reported in the media and similar behaviour has cropped up in many provinces around the country, including Nakhon Pathom and Surat Thani. Police said a third teen joined his friends in taking part in attacks in Thung Tako district. He allegedly confessed to police his gang threw soft drink bottles at approaching cars. Both cases were related to the consumption of alcohol. The teenagers, aged 16 and 17, had carried out their attacks while drunk, police told a news conference yesterday. There were at least six cases from Aug 1 to 8 involving rock and bottle throwing and sling shot attacks on moving vehicles at night on the Phetkasem and Asia 41 roads in Chumphon, Chumphon police chief Apichart Chueatet said. Officers had identified suspects and were gathering evidence to arrest them, he said. Surat Thani has also become tougher with rock-throwing gangs. Provincial governor Pracha Terat has vowed to act against parents if their children are found to be involved in such attacks. He said parents should share the responsibility of controlling their children's behaviour. Surat Thani police have been told to patrol a section of the Asia 41 road between Chumphon, Surat Thani and Nakhon Si Thammarat to search for rock-throwers after 12 vehicles, mostly passenger coaches, were attacked on Sunday. There were no reports of injuries. "We've told coach drivers and staff to try to remember the characteristics of the attackers and their car registration numbers," Pol Snr Sgt Maj Wisut Jaewtong said. Deputy Prime Minister Suthep Thaugsuban yesterday said all provinces should have more frequent police patrols along roads to prevent the rock throwing. |

From forward email:
How to prevent stones thrown into your cars At present, there is news of gangs throwing stones into cars on highways in Thailand with an increasing rate almost every day. As we care for your safety, please take our advice when you drive. 1. If you can afford, have a transparent type car film placed on your cars wind shield. Besides reducing heat, it will help absorb the impact of any flying object. 2. Most of the cases occurred at night on dark highways. If you have to use such roads, pop up your cars high beam (when appropriate) to scan out for any bike coming to you from the front. Because the gangs often use bikes coming to you from the opposite direction and dont show up their lights. Your high beam will help you spot the bikes and also will blur their eyes. And you should not be driving at high speed in this circumstance. Beware every curve you take, the gangs often pop up from road curves and hit you with a surprise attack. 3. If you spot an incoming bike, reduce your speed t o 40 60 km (also give cars behind you a signal that youre slowing down), the lower speed t he lower velocity of the rock when it hits you. Depending on the traffic condition, change to a far side lane away from the bike. 4. If you get hit, do not panic, do not pull over or do not stop at the spot, the gangs may come to rob you at the scene. You must try to control your car and drive slowly to a safe place and ask for help.

Thailand is having a huge problem with uncontrollable children both male and female. I think no one gets the blame other than their parents. Children are like a white page you can write anything you like, whatever you teach them will reflect later on. Good luck to all parents out there. Peace. |

Those reports do not mention which provinces or roads have been the most affected, in the past 1-2 years these activities were frequently reported in Ayutthaya as Surawut's post, others provinces: Phratumthani Bangpahan, Suphanburi, Lopburi, NakhonPrathom, Saraburi - Lomsak, PrachuapKhirikan, Chumporn, SuratThani, etc. Those throwers could be robbers or copycats.
I have heard of this crime, stone throwing for long time but it was not so frequently happened as in the past 1-2 years. I used to drive to ChiangMai frequently, I was warned to becareful stone throwing attack on the main road between Thern - Lampang, luckily it didn't happen to me and I didn't drive at night. Poll: People fear stone-throwing gangs BANGKOK, 8 August 2009 (NNT) A poll by Rajabhat Suan Dusit University indicates that people fear stone-throwing gangs and want the Government to increase the penalty. 42.86% of the respondents condemned stone-throwing and 17.86% urged the Government to hastily solve the problem. A majority said stone-throwing was caused by impetuousness and lack of parental guidance while pointing out that existing laws applicable to the matter were not strong enough. More than 75.84% fear of driving in rural areas at night while 24.16% said they were not worried since they did not drive at night. In addition, 69.06% doubted the polices measures against the wrongdoers and their ability to put an end to stone-throwing. 22.3% suggested the Government increase penalty for stone-throwing and related crimes. |
