I have been able to find info that paper currency for baht runs between 10 - 1000 There are also 20 Baht, 50 Baht and 100 Baht notes (bills). David |

there is no 10 baht "paper currency" (note), it's a coin.
it's weird that 50 baht notes are still so rare (they seem newer but have been around for years I figure), you usually end up with your change in 20 bahts and 10 bahts. often the same with 500 bahts, you rather get 100 baht notes. and 1000 bahts are still hard to get rid of (at least if you want your change too), well at least if you are not a fancy traveller or expat and don't spend your cash at expensive places all the time ![]() |

start at 20,50,100,500,1000 and ten is coin. carry alot 10, 20,50 for tips don't expect the change back from the waitors. I always tip folks except the cashiers at the large markets with the computer registers, our water boy, the person who pumps my gas the waiter in a resturant. And I never have any trouble getting a 1000 baht broken when I buy something, altho I do try to have smaller bills or you might have to wait a few minutes. But maybe I am just lucky to not live in a city. |

There are a lot of 10 baht notes around but not many people use it, they collect it. |
