It sounds good in theory and they are brave to try, but it might cause more problems than it solves. It surmises that people will leave their cars at home and take mass transport instead. But, like the sky train, unless it is widespread in its reach, you still have to take other transport at either end. For myself, I have to drive my car to the local sky train station. But if the train doesn't go where I want to go then I will drive all the way. The dedicated bus lane may be cheaper and quicker to implement than say the sky train or metro, however it takes away a lane from the road which is badly needed.
I think they will start limited trial runs (for free) to celebrate the Queens birthday in August. |
