Default Thailand fashion
Hi i was wondering if you guys could help me with my school project.
i am doing a research about Thailand fashion.
i have been to thailand when i was little with my parents, and i absolutely fell in love with thai's culture and color.
and this is why i decided to do a project about thailand.

i was wondering if you guys could tell me about a fashion in thailand these days.
it could be about traditional clothings, or recent ones.
i would like to know the gender differences in these clothings.
make-ups, tattoos, everything would help me a lot with this project.
also i was wondering if i could see fashion differences between just men and women, and also kathoeys. (if i have offended anyone i am very sorry..)

please let me know.. it would really help me a lot.

thank you

Going only by what I observe in Bangkok, I see that rap culture and fashion is big among young city people, but I think that on the whole Thai people are still very conservative with regards to fashion.
Those with money go for big conservative European boutiques, those with less go for a more grungy look but they still have their limits to how grungy they want to appear. It's more of a conservative, ''pretty'' grungy look.
In a nutshell, I think Thai people are quite conservative in their fashion, even when they try to be ''different''.
That's just an observation - I'm certainly no fashion guru for sure. Good luck with ur project.

If you click on the Thai Blogs link at the top of the page you will find some very amusing blogs by Steven Cleary about Thai teenagers and fashion.

No "quick fix" -but you might try the internet version of Thai english language papers that are published daily . "The Nation" often has fashion articles under the "Lifestyle" link (click "Leisure" on the drop down menu).

Putting "Thai fashion" into "Google" turns up some relevant info as well
