Do the pictures come in clear or are they in small squares like on the internet?

You will see picture in full screen 100 times better quality than internet picture. Sat signal is digital signal has to be good dead on aiming (65% of signal or above) or it is no show or show freezing frame. Unlike the antenna you can see the picture from snowy picture to clear.

FB, i don't know if there are any Thai temples in your area, but that is a good place to find more info. My wife is Thai and she has a Thai friend that has a satellite box. She got it from one of the monks and he came to her house and set it up now she's good to go and she says it is hardly costing her anything. I don't know how many channels she has but she sure is up to date as to what is happening in Thailand.

Hi IGotNoTime / BKK Fanatic,

Hope you enjoy the Thai TV; it's recently been upgraded from 12 to 18 channels, plus a few other bits 'n' bobs.

try the following:

http://kikugamo.com/tvonline2.html

You will be ablr to watch Thai with any Broadband internet connection

There is a special 'Thai only' section.

Enter 1 2 3 5 as the passcode and bingo about a dozen channels to choose from.

Stephen if I could ask... How did you come across this link? Everytime I bookmark one of these TV streamers link's, the link is dead after only a few months. How did you find out about this? Is there some sort of mailing list or something that I am supposed to be getting on so I can get updates for when these sites change, because they always seem to change on me. I have saved probably 8-10 links already and none work now.

Hi Got No Time,

I ran a search in google.co.uk last week and checked through some links.
I'm not sure how long this channel has been running, although it has good some channels.
To access the additional 'Thai Only' section, firstly click on the phrase:

SPECIAL CHANNEL
รวมทีวี ช่องหนังดัง ช่องการ์ตูน ช่องละคร ช่องกีฬาชั้นนำ
ฟรีมากกว่า 10 ช่อง ดูฟรีเฉพาะคนไทยเท่านั้น...

(half way down the page, just above the Google search bar).

Then enter 1 2 3 5

Happy watching!

Has anyone bought a dish to watch Thai programs in the US?

I want to surprize my wife with Thai television programs, but I have no idea where to start.

You can install it yourself you need 3 basic tools
1- water level to make sure the pole is plumbed 90 degree.
2- compass ($2-$3) to find Sat location in degree provided by the book come with receiver if not it will be in the menu section.
3- Field strength meter to adj the dish for maximum signal in your area (price $45) Good luck.

You can actually get many major Thai channels for free (free as in subscription free) from the USA. I think will find enough channels to please your wife on Telstar 5. Google the terms "Telstar 5" and "Thai".

As far as cost, you can easily do it for less than $200 installed I am sure. If you find a technician to install your parts, the parts can run you about $120 on ebay. Most any city with more than 50k residents will have at least one shop that can do this for you. Call around and ask who can install a 'Free To Air' system or a 'C or KU band system'.

In my web search I found a few companies near me doing full systems + installation for a single room @ $149! Best of luck to you.

Edited: The link given above actually confirms it is Telstar 5, and also gives some decent pricing.
