Default Life in Phang Nga?
I have a pen pal in Phang Nga. I do not Speak Thai and she does not speak English. Hopefully we will one day be able to understand each other without interpreters.

She is 14 and has the interpreting done through her teacher for free. So our correspondance so far has been very basic.

She lives in Kapong District in Tumbon Thana Moo 1

Is anyone familiar with this area? She lost her parents in the Tsunami and is living with relatives. I do not know her financial situation. I am worried that if money is tight she might not have the money to finish the upper classes in school. (about 5000 baht)

If anyone knows this area could you tell me a little about it? I do not want to be insulting by sending her money. Whether her family has money or not this still could be an insult. But if someone knows this area and can give me an idea if it is basically poor or well off. Atleast I would have an idea if I should offer.

Also I have heard of the term "Nam Jai" which I think means to give from the heart. If I wrote that in with any offer of money - would that cover any misunderstandings in my reasons for offering? I really am giving from the heart.

Thanks
