Hey Nick_M, Have fun on your trip! My last trip to Thailand this year I overstaid by about a week and when I left I spent about 10 minutes fillling out some forms and paying a 1000 baht fine. It all seemed pretty routine and casual.

Following up on what Bassai said. i can advise yous all that immigration are perfectly happy to fine you for a few days overstay, more money for the government!! Nothing seriously long though!!

But of course, be careful if your on an overstay though, even if its one of a only a few days. If the cops know, you'll be arrested before deportation!

Nick:

Absolutely, no problems!

Then if you wish to come back to Thailand from Malaysia and stay more than 30 days you can apply for a two month (extendable extra month) Tourist Visa from either the Thai embassy in Penang or Katu Bahru (depending if you enter from the east or west coast.

Default Visa queries
Hi All,

I am two weeks away from heading off to my first trip to S.E. Asia, and cannot wait. I am slightly concerned about some visa issues and was seeking some advice from the experienced travellers.

My first port of call is Thailand, but I believe you only receive a thirty day visa. This is not too much of a problem as I have be heading down to Malaysia. However, I do want to return to Thailand to see a little more, plus I also fly back to the UK from Bangkok. Will I have any problems obtaining another thirty day visa when I try to enter Thailand again from Malaysia?

I hope this all makes sense.
