Carefull with happy dprompt when sending SMS to countries outside Thailand, the receiver of your DTAC Happy Dprompt SMS automaticly needs to pay 1 euro for each SMS, this will be deducted automaticly from their credit.

I have had this problem during my stay last month in Thailand, the Jmarkt shop in the BTS station was aware of this problem.

So STOP USING DTAC Happy Dprompt or the Baby sim also from DTAC.

Really?

A friend of mine wasn't able to send SMS to me from BKK when using DTAC Happy Dprompt, so she bought an AIS sim and everything works fine now.

Perhaps they blocked international SMS traffic after receiving some complaints or something.

Anyway, thanks for the advice.

I agree, the coverage of Orange isn't very good.

For example, I wasn't able to call / receive calls when I stayed in Baiyoke Suite.

Well, that's very cheap !

I used an Orange prepaid card which was cheap, but not as cheap as that one.

i send millions to my bf in germany but he doesn't have to pay anything.

check your mobile company cos i heard some collect fee for receiving sms, really.

Be wary of the mobile you use, and the area of Thailand in which you use it,SMS service is not available to 100% of the country. Also my Motorola cost me a fortune this year, I sent some messages in a blank area, the phone said sent, the server in that area did not handle SMS, so without warning, I'm dialling up every 30 seconds or so at 75 U.K pence pre dial.I was fortunate enough to get a partial refund, but it was still expensive. Friendly warning!

right, orange has many packages, now the 1thb/1min was just over. the signal is not very good. my friend often say they can't read me even i'm in city!
prepaid is much better, you don't have to worry about the bill lol
now i use orange talk plan, call 1 min (3baht) get 1 min free and also collect bonus point from home phone from True Corp. minimum monthly bill 300 baht.
international sms is 9thb/sms.

I used Orange when I was there last month, however coverage is not as good as the others. I would also recommend Happy Dprompt.
I found Orange OK, but coverage was no where as good as the other services in rural areas
