I am curious to know how Thai culture differs from other Southeast Asian cultures, specifically in contrast to Vietnam. You can get a great education here on this forum regarding the major cultural differences between East and West, but I am interested in the more subtler differences between similar Buddhist cultures in Asia.

I would imagine that these cultures have much more things in common than they do not, but what are those areas where they do not? For example, and it doesn't have to be relegated to this subject necessarily--how do male/female relationships differ between the two countries, that is, is there an accepted practice in one country that would be frowned upon in the other? Or, does money as a gift mean something far more in one country, say, as a gesture of friendship or love, than the other?

If anyone can provide some insight on these or other cultural differences, that would be great. Thx.
