In the morning of 13th April, people in Paknam City lined the streets to watch the parade.

One of the first floats was for Nang Songkran (Miss Songkran). People look to see which animal she is riding upon and also to see whether she is standing or sitting. This tells them the precise time for the start of Songkran.

It is traditional to pour water on people as well as to smear white powder on their faces. Even the novice monk didn't escape!
