Default Pros and Cons of Democracy
“Asserting that laws can be made only by Parliament, Mr. Tharoor, who is a first time MP from Kerala, said, "We cannot have a small group of unelected people imposing their will on Parliament because in the long term the danger will be to you the people...”

Dear Friends,

Ending corruption in India could be in the long term a danger to you the people?
Mr. Tharoor are you saying things while being fast asleep. Wake up to reality.

I am not a politician and never want to be one. Common sense is something that most humans are born with. The Indian Parliament exists ever since the freedom fight ended way back in 1947. It was Gandhi who started small that became a large group against the British.

That was 64 years ago. I am sure this was a long enough period for any Parliament to impose laws against corruption in India. The small group of people who protested with Anna was certainly larger than all the Guys sitting in India’s Parliament put together.

It is democracy that allows a fast unto whatever to achieve something that’s a much-desired need of today.

The Indian Parliament that gave into Anna sure knew that the small group in Ramilla maidan could have spread like wild fire into a gigantic group. I hope Mr. Shashi Tharoor reads this comment. A stitch in time saves Nine.

Whether Anna was right or wrong is one matter. That Indian Parliament is suffering a paralysis is the other.

Business Line : Industry & Economy / Government & Policy : Hazare cannot claim to be peoples' voice, says Tharoor
