The family members of atheist DMK president M. Karunanidhi are busy seeking divine intervention to ward off the illluck plaguing the clan ever since the spectrum scam surfaced.

His Bengaluru-based daughter and aunt of the Maran brothers, Ms Selvi, appears to be spearheading the spiritual tour. Early this week, Ms Selvi along with a female member of the Maran family, performed a special Rahu-Kethu sarpa dosha pooja at Sri Kalahasti temple in Andhra Pradesh.

The group performed the special pooja which is believed to bring longevity and ward off ill-luck.

Karunandhi's daughter, who also took the blessings of the priests after the pooja, offered special prayers for her elder brothers M.K. Stalin and M.K. Alagiri besides half-sister Kanimozhi.

Ms Selvi, who literally donned the role of campaign manager for her octogenarian father in Tiruvarur in the recent Assembly polls, also worshipped at the Lord Venkateswara temple in Tirumala. Be it organising pilgrimages or holding peace negotiations within the family, Ms Selvi appears to be leading from the front in recent times.

Dear friends on the Forum,

This is not the first and this wouldn’t be the last time we hear that people seek God’s mercy when everything else fails. But, should God pardon them?

She and her clan did not remember that God existed when they really were doing well in their business of amassing wealth fraudulently.

Now the thieves are coming back to the scenes of crime to erase evidence by spending quite a lot of that money to bribe God.

They should seek the mercy of an entire population that voted them with trust to manage things their predecessors failed to do and return all that wealth where it belongs.

Oh God forgive me if I have erred?

Hi Jagan, thanks for your timely warning. I have a close association with a movie star and his family for long time in Chennai. I discussed your warning with them this evening.
