Post Why is it necessary for the US to take sides in Israel-Palestine rivalry?
Yeah, I live in the Midwest, so I know all the religious evangelical arguments for the need to have Jews rule the Holy Land in order to speed the arrival of the End Times. But I'm talking about raw politics and international relations. If the US government simply stayed out- not sided for or against Israel or for or against Palestinian Authority- would this hurt the United States? If a war ensued between the Arab states and Israel, and Israel looked like it was going to lose, the US could offer residency to Israeli Jews, right? And I'm sure Canada and probably Britain would offer asylum too. That would be humanitarian. But otherwise, why would the US benefit from keeping the State of Israel in operation? I'm not anti-semitic, but as an American I think US national security must come first. Israel is not a state.
