You haven't read Issac_Ru's posts yet have you? Just don't be like him, then we'll all fine with you, heheh

Comparing to dancing, Kendo basically practice self disciplinary and respect. I think most Kenshi are great people. They might be harsh and straight arrows sometimes... we're only mean to people who want to be Himura Kenshin and learn Kendo themselves to do Hiten Mitsurugi Ryu. Or people mix religions with Kendo, otherwise, yeh, We're really kewl people, lol

Getting back to the honor thingy, it's online... a lot of people don't give a damn but those who does will get burn. It's all come down to, "Why do I have to care about his/her feelings? He/she will never meet me, know where I live. So who cares!" I believe in Karma and treat others the way I want to be treated, and so should everyone coz thinking of something will come back to haunt you in the future can make you feel you shouldn't be mean to anyone... some exceptions of course such as ex-boyfriends/girlfriends whom you hate their guts so much
mugu, mixing religions into kendo isnt a problem at all. just as long as they dont take it to the forums and argue about it like so many of them do. im religious but i've never gotten myself banned or even said a single word about it in the dojo.

I try not to take things to heart. Just let it brush over my head so to speak. But sometimes things can get to me.

When it comes to online i agree, but in RL it hurts alot more.

...Kendo is just a cover-up so people think I'm tough and manly. My real passion is posting in dance.net and making flame wars with people who don't like my step dancing...
Hmm, that was something I didn't know crabbi.

ah-i see you live in america....so ture. also-yes this is the internet, but we are real people, and dick cheney, sitting at our computers. If people act like this at the computer, makes you think how they conduct themselfs in the "real world".

Most of these girls are teenagers, i hope that this is just them being young. Lord knows i was catty when i was 16. Thankfully, there are some wonderfully mature teenagers in here(general term) which keep me grounded in the idea that there are some good people in this world. That the mature ones will be the ones who grow to be the future world leaders...

no they dont usually happen in other places on the forums. once in a great while they will though.

as long as we keep it in the flames section, no problems should arise.

Default (absolutly nothing to do with Kendo) Ugh, where has honor gone these days?
Ugh-i need to vent. I looked at every other board, but didnt see anything for venting.

So here i guess?

Ok, as some know, im a ballet dancer...and im a long term member on a website called dance.net. Similar to here, they have over 100,000 active members and is very international...but....

I just recently got temp banned for participating in a "flame war" This flame war was implimented by the web master. This new flame war was supposed to be different. (there have been others in the past) Wars of the past usually consist of: dancer123-"i flame so and so because their avatar sucks! hehe :P " (stupid right?) so they wanted a slightly more serious one this time around. So-getting in touch with the meanie from within i flamed this annoying woman who bugs the crap out of me. Like most -other- message boards, i did no holds back. The comment got removed saying "this wasnt in spirit of the flame war" ....wha? Ok fine. The night went on, other drama happened (that i got dragged into) where i should of held my tongue. I got banned. Fine, my fault. Im ok with dealing with the consequences of my actions.

Today as i was (...heh, reading this site...) i recieved several IMs about what people were saying about me in chat. Oh boy...the discoers are talking trash about me, oh well. Well-apparently not. People who have and still continue to 'be my friend' on the message boards and on aim were slamming me. This took me by total suprise. Where are peoples honor? I have never pretended to like someone, no matter how much they were "popular" or how much i feared them. Then talked bad about them when they were not around. I would like to think that i have thick enough skin to not be hurt by this, but i am. Its not their words that hurt, its their actions-or lack there of-for not telling me in a civil manner that they no longer care for me or my "antics". Im ok with that. I dont take it too personal, not everyone can be liked by everybody.

Ugh....like my friend Ian likes to say- dancers have teeny minds.

Why dont people have honor and moral standing anymore these days?

I really hope the kendo world isnt like this. Me getting kicked from my ballet company (spite the loss of money...though ballerinas get pain crap) is starting to look ever more wonderful everyday....

as long as you dont get in futile arguments with some of our members, you'll most likely find that you enjoy it greatly.
I agree. There are some great people on here. I thought I knew a lot about Kendo (and compaired to most in my area I do) But man I have learned a ton from everyone on here. You're looking for honor? This is probably the best internet place to find it. And I guarentee that a kendo dojo will have pleanty of it to spair.

Dang teenagers. Why is it that when girls are in their middle teens some of them become a grade A b*****? Oh well, must be hormones.

I really think that kenshi aren't especially nice people as compared to the general population. I think it's a pretty accurate model of normal society... 'life in the dojo' and all that. There are cool people yes, but an equal number of asshats and crackpots.

haha! that caught me completely off gaurd. thanks for the laugh shinkenshi.

but in all seriousness, it is easy to lie on the internet. i have found that the irresponsible ones tend to be young kids masquerading as older ones. but that just in my experience.

Sometimes people can be total pricks. They feel that the web is such an annonymous place that they can cut loose and forget about morals and ethics. At least I think that's how some people feel. The way I see it, it doesn't matter wheter your talking to someone face to face or through IM, you still need to live by the golden rule. Slowly but surely I foresee that the world will degrade into one where everyone from the youngest child capable of speaking to our leaders and politicians just call each other names and not get anything done. Oh wait, this is already happening. AAAAAHHHHHHH!!!! Head for the hills!!!!!
