This is a post to atone for the hateful post that can be found at the following link. http://www.kendo-world.com/forum/showthread.php?t=8530
In my haste to find a Dojo and begin a new way of life I over looked details and brought a great deal of shame to the United States Tamiya Ryu Iaijutsu Dojo. I humbly ask of those who read this to never associate my views, inhabitations, or actions with the United States Tamiya Ryu Iaijutsu School. In my post I was arrogant and over looked important details. I will now clear these details up, to restore respect to the United States Tamiya Ryu Iaijutsu dojo. Also please understand that I have broken a code of conduct here that is inexcusable, words between Sensei and prospective students should be only for ears of those closely involved. My statement about Alexanian-Sensei trainings was impartial and incorrect. While he may have been learning Tamiya Ryu Iaijutsu for 20 years he never once digressed the number of tests he has taken to me. In the United States Tamiya Ryu Iaijutsu Dojo testing is a minor concern. Training in their art and as a result learning more about themselves is the true goal. My statement regarding a student that has taken his vows to become a Buddhist monk was also incorrect. He had taken his vows to become a Buddhist. The sensei of the dojo does in fact travel to Japan for grading, but this takes place every other year. All students who can afford the trip and the time required may go. There are no "gifted" students as I put it in the United States Tamiya Ryu Iaijutsu Dojo. I hope that this has cleared up the inaccuracies that I have created, and my views and opinions should not be associated with the United States Tamiya Ryu Iaijutsu Dojo. Sensei.....I am deeply deeply sorry for this transgression. |

... yup I was waiting for this to happen.
When you mentioned Tamiya I knew you were going to receive a bollocking. Tamiya Ryu is one of the oldest Iai koryu and has very few practitioners out of Japan, well, even in Japan to be exact. Hopefully you will now go onto better things now that you have received your serve from your new sensei. Be well. |
