http://fxhome.com/cinema/info_cache/movieinfo479.html
At first I thought this movie was just filled with a bunch of ho's, but then I realized it's pretty good. It's not JSA, but it's fun to watch.

Hank.

http://www.tryptrecords.com/fight.avi

I dont know if I should laugh or be like " ........ "

What do you guys think
Kinda sad... the techniques they do are just for show man, look at the silly stances they make. At one of thsoe moment you would be fried. but the opponent, he doesent even try to hit him.

this is why you shouldn't try to impress people until you are TRAINED AND CERTIFIED TO DO SO!!!!!

I have training in martial arts and have been practicing sword techniques for years so I looked into “Kendo” as a means for my son to learn. After learning of the high cost of “Kendo” and the strict disipline it required I knew I would have to find an alternative. Ugh, kinda makes me sick. I find it disturbing that many people find discipline to be a foreign concept.

Default Pathetic Wannabe Kendo Clip ....-___-
Blame the teacher. Black belt karateka (?) that lets kids practice this crap without having the slightest clue about kendo himself ....

Edit: was talking about the 1st one you posted .. "kendokids.mpg"
fight.avi looks like the usual "so, I'm yoda and you're darth maul" flick.

I'd have to agree. Why should one care what these kids are doing. If you're concerned about their safety... nothing wrong with a little Darwinism.

Indeed... I should never admit to being one of those SCA or wanabee types... Of course, back then I was ignorant and did not know kendo or other older sword arts even existed outside of Japan, China, etc... Good thing we didn't take any pictures.

I was really shocked with that fifth link: "Well I sat down with my son and asked him if he would like to learn about swordplay. When he found out just what swordplay was his eyes lit up! I have training in martial arts and have been practicing sword techniques for years so I looked into 'Kendo' as a means for my son to learn. After learning of the high cost of 'Kendo' and the strict disipline it required I knew I would have to find an alternative."

Uh, right.. I did the same thing and decided Kendo would be a good thing. The "high cost" for our bogu will still be far less than my semi-annual gaming PC upgrade, which I will avoid again this year (as my AMD64 box is still a powerhouse).
AMD ownz Intel ^o^

Well, I'm not sure what these kids think they're doing. Sounds kinda like a real life dungeons and dragons. Though scary as that may be, Damara and Anna were kinda cute. Rather than tease them, has anyone thought about emailing them and inviting them to a real Kendo class?
I don't think they'd be up to joining a real kendo class, considering this club has been around since '89. I think they enjoy the "freedom" of a relatively undiciplined environment to play their little games. They may see a real kendo club as too rigid. My college club gets a few of these kinds people every quarter, maybe one of them will stay for the long run. I say just let them have fun and wallow in their own ignorance.

Yes. Anna was kinda cute (she reminds me of an exgirlfriend)... at least compared to the rest. Was Rosetta a guy?

Has anyone ever been insulted by one of these people? I have one person making fun of me becuse I go to a Kenjutsu/Batto-jutsu dojo thats 45 min away from me. He on the other hand is a really rather strong backyard dimmwhit who thinks that he has mastered Kenjutsu/Kendo becuse he has read "Gorin no sho" and he can do jodan correctly. Becuse I am just starting I have decided to wait 1 year and then knock some sence in him.... however, I have him following me around and saying thing like "Better watch out!.... Charlie is learning from a professional", "lol, Charlie likes MEN", "He thinks footwork is important, lol lol lol!" and "What dimmwhit drives 45 min. to do something he can do at home, lol lol lol!"

Ugggggg..... Where is a shinken when you need one.

PS - His name is "David"
