I agree with Ahmed. You need to wash your gi as frequent as possible. My skin is sensitive with sweat, so I always wash my gi after practice. It will be advisable that you buy extra gi so that you are able to wear one when the other is still in the wash or in the midst of drying. Lastly, it is good to shower after practice so the sweat and bacteria doesn't stays in your skin.

I don't know about Kote that allow breathing. But Chiba Bogu has a version of theiir Kote which has micropunched palms which helps sweat evaporation. I guess that's the same thing.
Also Tozando has a some things which might help you such as:
An "Under Men" which is sort of cap which heps absorb sweat.
"Under Kote" sweat absorbent gloves, it says they are antibacterial.
and some others (chin sweat absorbers, etc).
One thing, just where is the rash? No need to buy kote if the rash is in your face after all.

Fly korean. Your problem is that you only wash your keiko gi once every two weeks?!?!?!!? Thats kinda grimy. I wash mine 2 to 3 times a week. When you leave your gi for 2 weeks that sweat builds up with bacteria, which is what causes that smell. Tell you the truth, your gi probably started to get moldy from leaving it for so long withought cleaning, especially if you dont hang it up outside in the sun to dry. So Im going to give you a few suggestions.

1. Get a new Keiko gi, and to be safe, get one of those special ones for your situation.

2. Clean your gi 3 times a week at least.

3. You shouldnt have to quit kendo because of this.

Im not an expert, but quitting kendo seems kind of harsh.

Peace.

found something else..
Use Chamois Cream.

Almost unheard of in the United States, chamois cream is the savior of most European long distance cyclists. Several manufacturers make specific chamois cream products. If you read the ingredients they are a lot like A&D Ointment used to treat diaper rash. Since chamois cream is largely unavailable in the US, A&D Ointment makes a great alternative. Chamois cream is an anti-bacterial lubricant that reduces friction between your skin and the chamois pad of your shorts. It also helps inhibit the growth of bacteria and helps sooth a raw crotch. Put liberal amounts of Chamois cream on your crotch before you put your shorts on. If you put it on your shorts first, it will smear on your legs when you pull the shorts on. Chamois cream helps a great deal.

Found this at a riding site..so i think you can put the cream in (ahem)other places than what they've listed

Are your cloths cotton? Cotton does horrible, horrible things to your skin when it gets wet, or even damp. I know when i go camping/hiking i make sure i didn't pack any cotton cloths by mistake. Running around outdoors with damp cotton cloths is a guarenteed way to get chafed, irritated skin. That might be the source of the problem, actually....

If you got a friction rash, treat it with an ointment called zinc oxide.

I thought about using zinc-oxide, but maybe this cream will work also..
Any suggestions on my clothes? and bogu?

Thanks for the help btw
What kind of keikogi are you using? If you're using a double-layer, you might want to see something about a single. I can't personally say if the feeling is different from experience, but I'm basing the advice off of descriptions of the single-layer keikogis I've read.

Well as you can see from my other thread, that I have been having some sort of "rash" due to kendo. Otto-san thinks its friction rash, which I believe it is. I went my skin doctor , and I told him my problem. He said that due to your sensitive skin, when you sweat in your keikogi and hakama, the moisture has no where to go so it stays on your skin causing the rash. He said it might also be from bacteria and the odor that is coming from your keikogi. And lastly he said I should quit kendo, if you dont want the rash to get worse :\ . Immediately I told him about some of the special keikogis and bogu's that specialize in these things. He said that it could be worth a try, but theres no garuntee at all since keikogi is always keikogi and bogu will always be bogu.

I need to find some new equipment from clothes to bogu. I need your guys help. Can you suggest some things that I could look at? I've already looked at the deodorant spray from Eguchi that kills bacteria and odor. And also the Fumitake Keikogi which is supposed to specialize in moisture. If you guys can suggest any other things , that would be very thoughtful. And if you have information about the spray and keikogi that I have mentioned, it would be even better. Thanks guys and I really need your help on this one.

Hm....

Are you familiar with the NIKE Dri-fit products (NO! I AM NOT ADVERTISING)? They take away moisture from your skin and bring it to the outside of the shirt. I have no idea how, but it works ok. If you can bear wearing that underneath your keiko-gi (switch to single layer for less insulation) then it may help...

Good luck with it ^^
That is the same principle between the special keikogi.

Kote - wrist
Men - Head
Do - Body armor
Tare - groin protecter

ok anyways guys I've considered these things so far. It does not mean that Im gonna buy all of them cause I dont have the money but Im definetly gonna look into them. Tell me what you think:

- Zinc-oxide ointment for my rash
-Fumitake Keikogi from Eguchi , which absorbs moisture
- Deodorant spray from Eguchi which kills bacteria
- An extra Hakama , so I can alternate and wash them frequently.
- And Im gonna definetly consider the hygenic bogu from Moribudogu, for its bacteria killing material used. But I'll have to wait a while before I do.
- A individual kote which allows your hands to " breathe " . ( I frgt where it was from.. please post if you know) .

yeah thats it so far.
Dang I dont wanna quit because of this rash. Hopefully my alternatives and treatment will work. Thanks everyone and please help me look for other things as well.
see all i know is korean KUMDO

My wrist/forearm area, a little under my tricep, kneecap area.

and I was thinking of purchasing the M-K9 Antibacterial Kote from Moribudogu. And I found out out the kote that allow your hands to " breathe". It was the kote from the Tada Jissen Bogu set on Eguchi. I would go for the chibabogu but its way out of my budget. The M-K9 is around 15,000 yen i believe. So it all comes down to in Kote matters:

-M-K9 Antibacterial Kote
-Tada Jissen ( kote only ) from Eguchi.net, which allows your hands to "breathe"
- or that chibabogu kote that you have mentioned .

Also Im defintely gonna look into :
-Fumitake Keikogi from Eguchi which absorbs moisture
- Deodarant spray which kills bacteria and odor.
- And maybe in the future , moribudogu Bogu, since their bogu have antibacterial material.

I think its either the sweat tahts causing this rash, or the bacteria. But I have a feeling its the sweat, since when I first started Kendo and I didnt have bogu, my wrist, hand area were fine, but as I wore kote and started to sweat in it, the rash appeared there. But who knows it could be bacteria also. So I`m going to be safe and try as many treatments and alternatives I can. I dont want to quit kendo cause of this dang problem
Well, the Chiba Bogu Kote with the micropunched palms are 17000 yen.
If the sweat is the problem then I reccomend some of the other products I mentioned. The under kote antibacterial gloves particularily

cheap household items.."Aloe is good, as is lanolin. Basic cold-cream works, as does bacon fat, Crisco and butter. In a pinch, a good 10W30 motor oil will do"..god, rubbing motor oil in my crotch...(shudder)
