...what do you feel is the most attribute when fighting? I seriously am trying to find out what a majority of the people who practice kendo think.

Well, by far, it is the mental strength of determination. When I shiai in my dojo or in others, I focus on not losing my determination to attack. I try not to let intimidation, loss of confidence or any other emotion that would lower my determination to strike.

That's what I think....

i'm working on progressing through the training halls. i practice in each hall until i at least get an idea for the basics. the nine halls are
1.unarmed combat
2.wooden weapons
3.bladed weapons
4.flexible weapons
5.specialized techniques
6.disguse
7.espionage
8.escape & evasion
9.mystism
i'm currently working on the 4th hall....but please...just answer the question i orinally posted....

Some of you reading this may already know me. I have one question: what do you think is the best combat stratagy? Some schools specialize in advanced footwork that increases your speed...one school has dozens of elaborate blocking/counterattack patterns with a kodachi or wazashi...some emphasize power..the list goes on. What do you think is most important?

actually, i can't do acrobatics. honestly, i've never tried. they won't help me in a fight, all they'll do is draw attention to myself, so why bother trying to learn them?
