Default Canon Rawk!!!
No its not Kendo but I thought this was too good not to share. Its a Taiwanese Guitarist called Gerry C who basically arranged a guitar version of Canon in D. The first link is the video of him playing, the second is the MP3 of it. Third clip is another guitarist who covered the song...its a bit cleaner than Gerry C's but both are pure quality:

Enjoi!

Its called Canon in D by Pachabel. Its originally played as a Orchestral piece or on Piano.

Excellent. I enjoyed that, I'm sure Pachalbel would have enjoyed it as well.

Malmsteen may be a twat as far as attitude is concerned but he is one of the top guitar players nevertheless especially when it comes to speed playing.

Malmsteen is technically very very gifted...but he is completely soulless. I was listening to his rendition of Hendrix's Red House on the G3 cd and it was horrible.

I mean Hendrix played it slow and with feel...Malmsteen tried to turn it into a shredfest of him trying to wank 5 million notes between every bar of blues.

Incidentally, Jerry C does credit Malmsteen as one of his influences...that along with Vai, Satriani and Petrucci(Yay!).

Speed playing is like biting your own elbow, very hard to do and requires talent. However it is also pointless and boring. I saw the Fripp G3 live and it's my favourite performance of the style.

You want to hear a good guitarist?. Check out Bill Frisell, especially his album "Unspeakable".
