To everyone that I have offended/angered, intentionally or unintentionally, I just wanted to say I'm sorry. I want to especially say sorry to Inouye and Lee, I was way out of line for what I've said to you guys. If we ever meet face to face, I would gladly accept any advice or criticism you have for me gratefully. I also wish that if I'm ever around I'd be welcome in Venice dojo. I didn't join this forum to make enemies and I'll be damned if I start now. I hope you guys visit us some time so we can have a good keiko.

It never ceases to amaze me that people feel the need to offend others by publicizing their views, only to apologize for posting in the first pace. I'm very new to forums and have gobs of time on my hands so I read alot of these threads. The one that led to this was, in my mind, bizarre until I thought about it and tried to put faces on the posters. In the dojo, especially large ones with a lot of talented players, the free exchange of ideas is much different than it is on the web. If, for example, I have a problem with my kendo, there are many people who will gladly give me their opinion as to how I might solve it. Because I have played with all of them I have a clear picture as to where they are on the food chain as it were and the value of their advice. (Usually high value) In the case at hand the apologizer started a thread that posed the question "Is it his fault?" Without rehashing the whole thing his "problem" was that every time he attempted do on a certain person he hit the guy's elbow. Now to me it seemed pretty clear that he was attempting to hit do when do was not open but I didn't get involved being only a lurker at the time. Many did offer the same opinion but this lad didn't want to hear it, he wanted to have people agree with him. He didn't understand that we have two ears and one mouth so we can listen twice as much as we talk. The actual question of his thread was "It IS his fault, isn't it" A quick look through his other posts made it obvious that he was not an experienced kendo player. He got really ugly and mouthed off to several people, one of whom he has not apologized to. Now I don't personally know any of the people involved but someone I know well (Mike Moscoso) knows one of them (Misterkukuru) so at least for me it was clear as to who knew what he was talking about. Anyway, as I said, the kid got really ugly. I don't think that I have ever had anybody talk to me that way, in or out of a dojo. Why? Because I would have had to smack him in the mouth. So, back to my original premise, he just didn't think. Here is a kid who has done kendo long enough to know the words but has failed to think through the whole thing to the point where he has any idea as to how little he knows. Let me say that again: he failed to think through the whole thing to the point where he has any idea as to how little he knows. Because there is little chance of anybody smacking him in the mouth he "thinks" he can wise off to anybody and everybody. And in this case he got called on it, probably by his teacher. So here is the lesson, while there are lot of people that talk the talk, there are a few that also walk the walk, and just like in a real dojo where noblody has on a black and red belt with gold stars or whatever, it is sometimes hard to tell who is who. As you get better in kendo it is easier to tell. When my first teacher told me I could teach kendo he said "If someone comes along and says they know kendo, let them be the teacher, you will know the truth in less than five minutes." I think the same is true on these forums. It was pretty easy to figure out how everybody stacked up, from relative beginner to sensei (and there was some serious trash talking here, mostly from the less experienced, the subject of a different discussion.) So before you mouth off, THINK!!! And if your feeling is that "I don't care if you are a 5 dan or a 8 dan or whatever" maybe you should consider a different hobby. Although I know at least one 5 dan who I think is a complete butt head, I would at least listen to what he has to say because he didn't get it from a crackerjack box. Anyway, that is my rant for today. Merry christmas to all, with razzleberry dressing. |

It never ceases to amaze me that people feel the need to offend others by publicizing their views, only to apologize for posting in the first pace. If you think your words may offend, don’t post. Keep it to yourself. Because people come on here and thing 'Well I'm never going to meet these people so I guess I can say any thing I like'. Then they think 'oh maybe I just might so I better apologise ![]() |

I also must make an apology. This goes out to my one of my best friends GoldenSinai. Im sorry i slept with you know who, and for taking advantadge of your wealth, even though it was mostly your mothers fault. Besides that Ive always been there for you and you gotta admit weve had some great times. I mean come on, your my sparring partner and we fight every week in kendo, look at that bond. Thank you for everything in the past, present and future. Please find the wisdom to forgive me and accept my apology. O by the way Diego says hi and we wanted to know if you want to go out for sake sometime to forget this tragedy and put it behind us.
