I agree with you but this is the lounge where you can talk perfectly nonsense just for the sake of amusement.
The thread about bad Kendoka is I think a nice one, too bad that the originator of that thread isn't keeping us up to date with it. We can see here how Gibbo transformed from someone whom we should hate, to his natural self with sound advice for all of us. So I guess it's ok, here people aren't trying to convert you to their religion. Or giving us a peek into the deepest darkest holes of their souls, very scary indeed. You know who I mean! |

The threads here are extremely helpful. Crappy threads come in a wave pattern. There are times where kendo questions are abundant and there is lots to talk about. Just recently we have been on the down wave of useful questions so the mindless threads grow. It's the normal ebb and flow of the forum. You'll get used to it. Just be patient.

There are some extremelely informative, and good treads.
I have digged info, long after it was posted. So I think that alone makes this site unique. Not all the treads have the potential to become interesting , nor amuzing, but at least they are entretaining. So , as long as they dont delete good old treads, to make room for new ones, lets keep them coming so we can all add our two cents worth. keep sharing |

An organization is only as good as the people within it. The same idea goes with online communities. At first I thought it mean how everyone tends to gang up on the crazies, but now I actually like that method of modding the forum. We have very little controversy with people being banned for different reasons and talk about why it happens and be concerned about being banned ourselves because we usually get the crazies to leave of their own free will. I think that makes this forum much better than other forums. No secret service trying to cart people away sort of feeling, if that makes any sense to any of you. The quality people do hang around and do well in refuting any incorrect talk that the crazies throw in. I have been on this forum for over 3 years and still find it useful. I would say that it comes in handy much more often than the filler that has appeared lately. Just go with the flow and the quality will return soon.

I think that the quality of the threads on here are much better than some other ones I have seen on other forums. Sure, there is spam and crap but it's normal to have that. As long as you have people who post real stuff on here, the forums will thrive.
One thing that I have alwyas thought about was if you don't like what a forum is presenting, present topics that would do good for the forum, otherwise leave. If you want more Kendo talk, then start topics that have kendo talk in them. Other than that, just go with the flow since this forum is of great quality and there will surely be a boune back. |

I remember when I found this place in June, it was full of kendo talk, now a lot of it has changed and it seems about once a month someone new pops up who could be called a spammer. I agree that there are still some very educational threads here, but a lot has changed here since June. I kind of strayed from this place over the summer but I dont think it was the site, it was me. |

Well I must say that this forum has the most intelligent conversation out of all of the forums I have been to, and that's a lot. But back in June, it seemed to me that all of the threads had more kendo orientated conversation. Now we have some "trolls" every once and a while that don't even belong to a dojo and try to give us advice. I didn't notice that many trolls back when I first started coming here, but then again, it could be me who has changed.

I gave KWF a 4 (which is pretty good considering that it is hard to maintain a forum and keep the junk out with only two people!) |

I don't understand why people feel the need to post their "thoughts" about their first "night" in bogu!? I understand that they are excited and all, but is it really necessary to start a new thread? when there's a million other "my thoughts on first night of wearing bogu" thread? People are just excited about thier experiences in bogu. At least its kendo related. They make threads for others to congratulate them, give advice and other praise. Sure the search tool is not used often. (which is why I think that after regristration, not only should the FAQ section be visited, but also a short tutorial on the search tool. FWIW) Getting new bogu is a huge part of kendo. After all, what would kendo be without bogu? Perhaps a bit like www.shinai.org? |

I'm currently failing to be impressed by the likes of people who don't know what they are doing when they write stuff here, like our old friend Gatsu (though he at least had SOME humour value), the completely off-topic posters (another mass-debate about religion anyone?) and the buggers that post-bomb the forum just to get a f***ing avatar. Its a collection of coloured lights to form a pretty picture, why the fuss.
But on the up side its easy to see what people are doing in kendo all over the world, and its sometimes easier to chat to people via KW than other mediums. And occaisionally (though more infrequently recently) there are some decent discussions to be had. I just hate the young kids who post bollocks here 24/7. And the samurai fetishists.
