I'm folowing the developement of LOTOR online, i'd like to play the matrix, heard the events were great in that game, WOW on the other hand is too cartoonish IMO.

PS: I think Kendo-boi is Isaac-Ru the best course of action is to ignore his comments.

I've been free and clean since late July after playing almost daily since the first stress test last year. It was fun for a while, but the tedium began to wear on me. But now I'm hooked on Battlefield 2!

Anyway....I was looking around for software online and found this. Since there seem to be a few people here who like mmorpgs, I thought i'd show you this...

I can't say how well it works...i've only used simple programs like RPGMXP....hrm...

I used to play diablo 1 & 2 and expansion on 2 but I'm now playing Horizons (www.istaria.com) which I'm enjoying alot cause it doesn't have pvp and most of the annoying kiddies ran for WoW to annoy everybody there.

I also play galactica which is a free tick based stratigic space game frome Romania http://www.bluegecko.ro/

I played OU in early beta back in '97 or '98. Didn't like it because it had PvP. The offline series was great, but not getting out of your starting town because it was surrounded by 1337 PKz0r dud3s wasn't my idea of adventure.

I like PvP only in shooters (DeltaForce, Blackhawk Down, TFC), where your skill is more important than the time you spent playing and aquiring uber gear.

I resisted the urge to play WoW, because 2 of my colleagues play and what they told me sounds mucho like good old EQ on speed - had enough EQ for a lifetime, would probably get bored within a month of 2 of WoW, so I wait for something more complex.

Now you get trammel and felucca, no one will attack you in Trammel unless you're in a guild. Yes, they called it the "Candy Land", hehehe The most fun of UO is the test shard... set the skills you want then just go have fun. If you die, you won't loose much since it's just a test center. My tank mage got 79 kills on test center, lol boy it was fun...

If that isn't adventure, what is?.. Farming teh phat l3wts? Look, fighting against another player in any game is gonna take alot more skill than just some computer controlled troglodyte. And when it comes down to being a "1337 PKz0r dud3" pwning 51% more times then getting pwned means you are doing well.

Yeah, getting pwned sucks, but if all you want to do is chat with your buddies and mindless plow your way through levels... and PAY $15 a month, then invite your friends over to your house, spend the money on beer and play Super Mario Kart or Donkey Kong... otherwise, level up, get teh phat gear and head out there an pwn some players...

I mean where else are you gonna get to read classics like, "Warriordude says. "OMG I CAN"T BELIEVE YOU JUST KILLEED ME!?!!!1 WAIT TILL I GET MY MAGE!!!!1"" ... 2 minutes later ... "WarriorDude's mage Burninator says, "SEE IF YOU CAN PWN ME NOW YOU STUPID NOOB LOLO ROFL HAHAHA~!!!1""

Btw UO owned, esp Shadow Clan and those Pirates that always hung out around the port towns... ARRRRRRRRGH!

That is the reality of most mmorpgs but IMHO a sad one, i share the same view as Rekru and i don't think it takes that much "skill" to pk, choose the most efficient class at "pvpying" for your char, get the best equipment and 90% of the job is already done. If PvP has a purpose in the game then i don't mind, like for instance in events or duels but if a game sys lets players abuse it as in the last game i played then i'm totally against it, nothing better than an online FPS game as far as pvp is concerned.

Real person beats AI any time, and if you're not pking, hunting pkers or running from them, then you're just in a chat room.

When an MMORPG is only about what you said, i would consider that game an MMO, the rpg aspect would at least require doing quests, crafting and selling stuff, general game events based on a story etc...
