Just curious. Been doing a report lately on this subject and i've been finding some interesting stuff. Just wanted to know what you guys think of this (this is probably the closest thing to an unbiased source that i'll ever find....)

The only statistic I've seen regarding this is that teen crime in America is less than half of what it was 10 years ago (according to the FBI's crime stats database).

And here I thought all those violent video games and rap music were turning all our teens into hardened criminals!

The spin doctors like to put up the numbers saying that crime has gone DOWN.. but it's a per capita thing.. because there is more people there is less crime per 1000 etc etc.. in real life there is more crime
Felony or major crime like murder has gone DOWN.. things like theft and random assault has gone UP

around me it has gone up a bunch because they brought in a bunch of families from a bad part of town, to try and help them, but really these people brought a lot of crime with them.

I don't think it has changed much here in the last ten years. I definitely feel safer now walking around than I did back then.

Of course, that could be because I'm a lot bigger now.
