WHY do you need a forum for "wimmin only"? its like having a forum for gay kendoka. Or a "single parents only" dojo. TOTALLY UNNECESSARY. I find it sexist, politically incorrect, and totally out of context on a MA forum area.

We DONT CARE if your bum looks big in traditional hakama. Live with it.

Martial arts uniforms are NOT SEXY. DO NOT TRY AND MAKE THEM SO.

If you have a problem ASK YOUR TEACHER. Otherwise text each other if its embarrassing to discuss in public, because this is public in case you forgot....

Female bogu (white) are sized for girls, and if you want a set get measured up for one and it fits you. Buy a light sword as advertised on eurobogu if you do iai. If you have trouble with gi, buy a kimono and alter it to suit. Hakama never fit westerners anyway, so dont worry about it.

You now have nothing else to complain about so the forum can be shut down.

Someone's got his panties in a twist, eh?

Not that I need to justify myself or the forum to you, but there is a difference between women coming together to support each other in a male dominated arena and an exclusionary dojo (your "single parent's only" example). No one has said that men aren't allowed to post on that forum. It's simply a place where specialized topics can be discussed since some men (i.e., you) have a problem with women asking about how to get proper chakuso.

On that topic... no one's trying to make their dogi "sexy." It just looks a lot better if you don't have a big mess o'fabric poofing at your back. And I've seen girls get dinged on their chakuso if their hakama doesn't fit right. I don't want to look sexy in my bogu. I want to look put together and intimidating.

You don't like it, don't go there. At least this way the "sillyness" of the wimmen folk is contained in one place, eh?

Edit: and I expect this kind of stuff out of Hai Hai, who at least is amusing. But I had more respect for you from your previous posts on the Iai forum.

I don't mind if there is a women forum if it is the decision of the owner. However, should you girl welcome us, men, to visit first instead of start setting the rule and using the word like "Men-troll"?

Have any of the males that have posted there been flamed yet? Besides a little friendly joshing?

i'll support my kendo groupie wherever she goes...

i don't see why we should get so heated about a new forum for girl stuff? just think of it as their girly division in a taikai. umm well... i was born with one of them built-in dicks, thus i'm not allowed to fight in the girlie division... but hey, as the male kenshi i am that doesn't stop me from supporting female kenshi wholeheartedly <font color="Red">

I thought you were supposed to wear kendogi and bogu to look presentable and the respect for the kendo art. Not to look sexy. So if a girl looks presentable, what's wrong with that? If a girl happens to look sexy while they are trying to be presentable, what's wrong with that as well?

chidokan, I think youve missed the point entirely!! At least with a womens forum, if I want to find info on something specific to females doing kendo, I dont have to search through every damn thread ever written to find it. Posts as specific as that are hard to find - Ive tried. I like the idea of being able to get advice on stuff you guys might never have thought of, let alone know how to help.

Do YOU have a female sensei? Right, didnt think so. Going up to my sensei and asking for advice on preventing breast-bruising do misses, and so on, would feel wierd. There arent any senoir women at our club for me to ask advice of, so it great to be able to ask advanced women here.

Funny how its only a guy who seems to think this is sexist....

..I knows all about them skirt-wearin' hagus stuffers...
Their brand of humor is getting a caber tossed up yer loch!
Nyaaaa!

;P
I take it you mean us fellow Scottish?

I dunno, some people can be quite ignorant to other cultures.

1) It is a kilt, traditionally worn by Scotsmen and Highlanders. Not a skirt

2) Its Haggis not "hagus"

Maybe you should research my dear Michiyo.

For those who hadn't sussed it out...

"the womans forum is a safe place for women to ask questions that the don't feel thy want to ask men or that men would not be interested in."

Go read the "groundrules" thread and you'll see that relevant and constructive posts where guys have something useful to contribute are welcomed... and not removed unless they do a troll.

BUT- let's be honest, how many of the (majority) male kendoka are TRULY intersted in some of the thing that women find relevant? Or can comment from experience?

Think guys: how many of you would PREFER to go to a female doctor to discuss suspected testicular cancer...?

Principle is the same. Just you don't come across similar situations so often as women do.

I for one am extremely interested in conversations about cup size, depilitory creams and your "mune".

Snoogins.

Am I allowed to say that?
