If Gibbo reigns supreme, I'm surprised there are any virgins left.
Oh noes... Is kwf as we know it over if he reigns?

While there has been a lot of yelling and name calling back and forth, the original question still stands; why does this new forum exist? If you cannot answer this question concisely then people will not go to it, there are already more forums around than I can possibly keep up with, why would I add another to my list? What does it offer that my current forums do not?

I don't get why no one else notices this. Ignatz is the most arrogant prick on KW forums. He thinks he's such a great person because he's old and holds a nidan. Nidan = 3~5 yrs of kendo training, I don't see why he uses that as a way to look down on others. I think he just had a sad life.
Ah, the 18-year old perspective. Priceless...

Iggy's great 'cos he trains. And keeps training. End of story.

I know a few 'older' guys who don't bother grading. I have a friend who has just reached retirement age. I have the impression from him that he never graded too high, but I wouldn't fence him. I like my head on this way round. Maybe you got too many men hits? Your school got a nurse? Go see her.

Our art isn't exactly exploding, and it is felt that the more places we have to communicate, the better we are empowered with our chosen path.
In my opinion, the fact that kendo is relatively rare makes it better to have fewer forums. It is not good to weaken our community through fragmentation.

I would not be here if I were not a serious minded and earnest student.
So thats why we don't get any trolls on this board. Everyone who comes here is a "serious minded and earnest student". What a load.
Why not try the old shut up and listen way of doing things for a bit?

Why? What makes some people's word worth more than others? Let him say what he wants, and let him talk about his forums. Why is it so hard for some of you to do that? Everyone on this thread trains in kendo, and is keep training. Respect everyone, not just the veteren members. You don't have to agree, just respect their words. He's not a troll.

What makes some people's word worth more than others? Because some people are ignorant fools so their words are worth nothing.
Let him say what he wants, and let him talk about his forums. Why is it so hard for some of you to do that? No one is stopping him. I've seen no forum police come and ban him for saying whatever he wants. Doesn't that give anyone else the same right to say what they want? Or does your "let him say what he wants" statement only apply to certain individuals?
Everyone on this thread trains in kendo, and is keep training. Respect everyone, not just the veteren members. You don't have to agree, just respect their words. Why should anyone be required to respect everyone's words? That doesn't make any sense to me. "Ignore past actions and the worth of what is said! Simply respect what is said because you should!" sounds like a politician's wet dream. You don't happen to work for G.W. do you?

Experience. Providing they have learned from it.

When some one has a great deal more experience, their words carry far more weight.
Respect is earned, not given.
And just in case you haven't noticed, I take my own advise, and do a hell of a lot of sit down and shut up on this forum (keeps me from putting my foot too deep into my mouth).
