I try to stay away from the castle, it gives me bowel problems. Also not very good for you.

I like Krystal Burger better (southern version of White Castle). There is one where I am at now, and I only went to it after seeing Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle.

There's really nothing like a Whie Castle burger... I get them once every summer when I go with my fiance to visit her family in Kentucky. Those frozen one's will get you through in a pinch, but it's just not the same.

Where can I get a "magic frig" where boxes of White Castle Burgers (and presumably bottles of beer) appear?

Yeah, I want me one of those magic frigs too.

On topic... I've had those freezer white castle burgers too. Doesn't taste as good as it should for having 16 GRAMS OF FAT. They should put bypass coupons in each box.

true that. The only White Castle I've had was the frozen ones from Albertsons, but no matter what, In-N-Out can never be topped.

I think they are comparing different fast food/hamburger joints. We, here in Europe, only know, Mc Donalds, Burger King, Wendy's, Arby's, Kentucky Fried Chicken and that's about it I guess. Apparently there are more where that came from.
Whatever one thinks of these kind of restaurants, it can't be denied that they are a great succes all over the world. They're also the symbol for the "Americanisation" of culture as we know it according to some circles. The burgers from this White Castle place must be something special if a well respected connoiseur of everything connected with fine food as Runsyi has something to say about it.
So now we will have to visit the US at least one time just to check whether it's something special or more of the same.

For the uninitiated brits and others...

White Castle is a US chain of burger outlets ... what they are specifically discussing here is one of their products which are bite-sized burgers which smell and taste like poo (not that I have tasted poo of course,,,!)... they sell them in bags of a dozen or more and drunks gorge themselves on the little devils...

I don't think they taste that bad actually...(!)

White Castle was the first burger chain, ever. It is a cultural icon against which all others are measured. Back in my day the burgers were .10 each. When McDonalds got in the game theirs were .15 each I think then .25 but they were bigger. They would sell you two burgers, fries and a coke for .99

MMMmmmmm..... In and Out.... Double Double... fries...or if I'm feeling like sadistic, the 4X4, not on the menu but you can still order it. But they should be more truthful, never in the hundreds of times I've eaten there have I been "in and out" minimum 15min wait time... But so worth it...
